If you haven’t tried Domini’cs Italian Restaurant, you’re in for a treat - great food and great jazz! The food is delicious, good service, a great bar, and a relaxed atmosphere make this a great place to unwind. Add to all the above really good jazz played by some of El Paso’s premiere musicians, and you’ve really got something special.

Leading the New Impressions group is Ricky Malachi, a world class drummer who has shared the stage and more than a few recordings with some of the jazz worlds top musicians. Ricky has a style all his own, and too marvelous to try to describe here. You just have to hear him play, and you will be hooked.

Next on guitar is local legend Curt Warren. His distinctive style is mellow and smooth. Curt is a music professor at U.T.E.P. Like Ricky, Curt has shared the stage with some of the great jazz performers of our time.

Playing stand up bass is Eric Unsworth. Eric, in this writers opinion, is a great bass player. Eric lays it down heavy and smooth. He is also a U.T.E.P. music professor.

Sitting in last Tuesday night was Mack Goldsbury, a masterful sax player who recently moved back to El Paso from Europe. Mack’s resume reads like a “who’s who” of the jazz world. Mack practically set the stage on fire Tuesday night. For those of you who missed his performance…you have my condolences. Trust me, you missed “it”. Rumor has it that Mack is going to become a regular part of the New Impressions group. I hope so!

These guys have a great sound. Watch the web site for future performances. - Ken Vaughan
